Last update Dec 17, 2013 - This page is under construction!!!  I have lots more tweaking to do.

These are some of my posts that went a bit viral.  Also included... some of my personal favorites.  If you want to quickly browse my blog, this is a good place to start.  Enjoy!

LIFE

Messy House... Bless or Impress - This will really put things in perspective when you have company!

GETTING CREATIVE

My Painted Floors - When we built our home, we couldn't make up our minds about a floor.  We have pets.  Some are older and have issues.  Need I say more?  Also, our home is passive solar, which means lots of sunlight comes in during the winter - wood floors can have fading issues.  I hate tile - actually, I hate grout.  Long story short.  We still have no "real" floors.  I painted all our subfloors.  I have quite a few posts showing the different floor designs and how I did them.  These posts have helped a ton of people who needed to pull up floors, but for whatever reason, couldn't get a new floor yet.  We have lived with ors like this for 5+ years.  They've really held up!  Don't get me wrong.  I want some real floors.  We just still can't decide what kind to get.  :-P

I love my loft floor so much that I'll probably cry when it's covered up.

Weaving a Chair Seat - Once you master this (easy) art, you'll be able to re-do chairs with damaged seats and backs without spending a fortune.  Fabric choices can completely alter the look, so the sky's the limit!  I have a number of posts on this topic.

The Ball Jar Sign - Every now and then, I get the urge to make a sign.  This ball jar sign was my favorite ever.  It also was the most time-consuming.  I had planned to sell it, but, in the end, I decided I couldn't part with it.

The Screen Door Chalkboard - This was a simple little project that you've no doubt seen done before.  I made it using a screen door that came from my Grandmother's house.

GARDENING

Growing Greens Indoors - If you are like me, you try hard to work more greens into your life.  And maybe, like me, you detest going to the grocery store more than once a week.  And worse, maybe like me, you too often let things go bad in your refrigerator (I swear I'm getting better!).  Growing your own greens is the solution.  It's cheap and easy and with a little planning, you can have a constant supply of fresh greens ready to go.

DECOR

Kitchen Cupboard Before and After - Oh My goodness.  This piece went from a very functional eyesore to a very functional BEAUTY!  It's one of my favorite pieces.  My hubby is amazing.

School Lockers Inspiration Post - I love re-purposing.  Lockers are so functional to use in the home.  If you'd like to see some examples of well-done home lockers, check out this post!

Mis-Matched Chairs at the Table -I'm not a matchy-matchy person when it comes to style.  I have way more fun putting things together in a more eclectic fashion.  Mis-matched chairs are right up my alley!

Smitten with Green - One lesson I learned from having a booth is to not get hung up on different shades of a color.  The day I pulled together all the greens in my house to try to choose a paint color brought this lesson home to me in a big way.

Ode to the Faux Mantel - You don't have to have a real fireplace to have a mantel.  Faux mantels can be FABULOUS!

Blue Porch Ceilings - Check out this post to see the story behind this wonderful color option!

Southern Living Idea House - In 2010, the SL Idea House was just minutes away from my house.  I visited and they let me take loads of photos.  I did several posts about it, showing my favorite things.

RECIPES

Some of these recipes include ingredients I can no longer tolerate (gluten, dairy, corn, peanuts...), which means basically I am on what's called "The Elimination Diet".  If you are reacting to foods, this is the best way to figure out which foods are NOT your friends.   I have learned ways to modify many of my favorite recipes and they are still tasty, but in general, I am moving towards a simpler, back-to-basics way of cooking and eating.

Potatoes in a Crock Pot - This in my most viewed post EVER.  The view numbers are insane.  Even with my food intolerances, I still make this - a modified version without dairy.  It's still one of my favorite ways to cook potatoes.  Be sure to read thru some of the comments.  You'll see that it's a great recipe to play around with.

Wow - that looks like a TON of butter, but I used less than called for.

Green Smoothies - These have changed my life and that is no exaggeration at all!  They are easy.  They taste good... REALLY good!  And they are healthy as all get-out!  Don't knock them til you've tried them.  And if you don't like them, then you probably just need to try some different ingredients.

Carrot Souffle - Soooooo good!  This one took off like crazy on Pinterest and is a holiday favorite.  This would be fairly easy to modify, but I haven't tried that yet.  I am currently in love with broiling potatoes in the oven.  When I do modify it, not only will I leave out the dairy and wheat, but also the sugar.  Carrots are sweet on their own!  With the sugar added, it's practically a dessert.

Zuppa Toscana - Best Soup EVER! - This stuff is sooooooo good.  I will try again one day to modify this for food intolerances.  I can't have it as is.  But for anyone who has no food issues, this is amazing!!!

Naturally Flavored Water - I very rarely drink sodas.  I actually LIKE water.  When I want to kick it up a notch I drink infused water.  They not only taste good, but they are really pretty to look at.  I feel very fancy when I make them.

VINTAGE TREASURES

Vintage Wooden Ironing Boards - Oh My Goodness... these things are so useful!  I have one and am considering adding another to my collection.  This post has all sorts of inspiration photos - you'll want one, too!

Texas Ware Melamine Dishes from the 50's - I love learning a bit about the vintage treasures I come across.  I don't collect these personally, but I sure did have fun researching them.
