Somewhere Over the Rainbow

It's been hot as blue blazes around here for weeks.  And humid.  Our average temperatures should be around 87, but instead, we've been hovering in the mid 90's.  On the news, they said our summer was going to be hotter than usual.  That's depressing.  July and August are generally miserable.  So, it's going to be worse than miserable???

I guess I'll be like Scarlett and think about that tomorrow, because this evening we had a little respite.

The winds kicked up and the sky got dark.  We thought for sure we were about to get a storm - a much hoped for bit of rain.  It never rained, but we got a little surprise.

The MR. and I went out to the front porch to sit and enjoy the amazing cool breezes.  Then Mr. walked to the east end of the porch and spotted this -

I followed the rainbow to see where it ended and this is what I found -

There should have been a pot of gold around the barn, but we never found it.  We could use a pot of gold even more than a bit of rain!
