The Pears Perservere!

Hurray! It looks like we'll have pears this year. Each year since getting our property, our pear trees have been loaded. We kept missing getting them. Byt the time we'd get to the property, they'd all be gone. Last year, there were no pears. None. Nada. My theory is that at the time of pollination, there were lots of loud, heavy machinery nearby - building our house and my parents house. The bees probably went elsewhere.

This year, spring was more peaceful. The trees have lots of baby pears. Mmmmmm!

Garden of Delight

My parents built right next door and it's been wonderful. We are putting in a garden together. Rudy and I know a little about vegetable gardens, but they know a lot. The garden will be organic, of course.

The ground has been tilled a number of times. The soil is very rich. Much better than the typical clay soil around here. The last few days, everyone has been working hard to put up fencing for climbing vegetables and plants that need staking.

Some work more than others. Lulu prefers to supervise.
