I've been thinking about shelves - mostly for the booth, but also for home ~
in the house, on the porch, in the garden... I am wishing for creative and frugal solutions. I have admired
vintage ladders used as shelving. This past weekend, I found one!
I found the ladder at a
yard ~tool-shed~ sale. It wasn't even for sale. The man made me
swear that I wasn't going to use it to climb on! He said if I was going to use it as a ladder, he'd rather just burn it for the wood. He was such a sweet man! When I promised it would just be a display shelf, I put his mind at ease and he let me have it.
The ladder is not in that bad of shape. Nothing's broken. The worst part is the little shelf thing-y at the top, which is easily replaced. It's a bit weathered and looks like it's spent some time outdoors, so I definitely won't climb up it. It's EXACTLY what I've been looking for.
I need to add shelves
and
I need to decide how to finish it.
What else do I need???

Ok - it's not exactly a ladder or a shelf, but it's fun and creative. It's an extended ladder back chair (Anthropology display) as seen on C Dianne Zweig |
Now, don't you wish you had my ladder?
